Let's face it, Portland has already been discovered! It's no secret that Portland offers big city culture and dining in a small city, and all that by the sea! But there are still some new things to discover and one is The Press Hotel, celebrating it's first birthday with sweepstakes for a free stay. See Contest Here The old Portland Press Herald Newspaper building (called the Gannett Building) was turned into a boutique hotel in the center of Portland as an Autograph Collection branded Marriott hotel. A recent stay there for a winter wedding was as advertised- "Beyond Words". We enjoyed the high level boutique service and imaginative decor that played off the building's history as a newspaper building and it's location within easy walking distance of everything the Old Port District of Portland has to offer.

Beautiful old building in Tommy Park in Portland...or not?
Behind the tree is an elaborate Trompe L'oeil painting based on the old post office building by artists Lewis and Denison! At night, it was especially mind bending, and we didn't realize it was painting until the morning!
